Alex Katz
Alexander Benjamin Katz (conceived October 12, 1994) is an American expert baseball pitcher in the Chicago White Sox organization.
Katz was conceived in Manhasset, New York, and went to Herricks High School. He pitched for the St. John's Red Storm, where he was a part of the group that won the 2015 Big East Regular Season and Tournament.
Katz was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 27th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.
In 2015, at 20 years old, he pitched for the Great Falls Voyagers of the Rookie Pioneer League, and for the Arizona League White Sox of the Rookie Arizona League. He was a joined 0-2 with a 2.20 ERA and 4 spares, and in 32.2 innings he struck out 40 batters.
In 2016, he pitched for the Kannapolis Intimidators of the Class A South Atlantic League, and the Winston-Salem Dash of the A+ Carolina League. He was a joined 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA and 2 spares, as in 55 innings he struck out 57.
Katz was on the list for Israel at the 2017 World Baseball Classic qualifier, yet did not show up amid the competition. On January 12, Katz declared that he will be on the Team Israel list for the first round of the World Baseball Classic.
